Placements

It is preferable that applicants meet the following criteria:

• Be in recognised training, or working towards accreditation, as part of a UKCP/BACP approved counselling or psychotherapy training course.

• Have completed the first year at Diploma level or beyond.

• Have completed a minimum of 50 hours of personal counselling or psychotherapy, and are committed to remaining in this for the duration of the placement.

• Have some experience, either paid or unpaid, of counselling or working with people in a caring/listening capacity.

• Be willing to contribute towards the cost of weekly group supervision.

• Have a DBS disclosure (obtained within the past year), or be willing to pay to obtain one.

• Have knowledge of the BACP/UKCP ethical guidelines for counsellors and psychotherapists in training.
